25 April 1975: Buster and Cor!!
Has Clever Dick gone cuckoo? The crackpot boy inventor graced the front cover of this issue of Buster and Cor!! in April 1975.
Dick was one of the many wonderful creations of the great Leo Baxendale. It looks to me that he drew the strip in this week’s issue, although I understand his son Martin Baxendale took over Clever Dick and others of Leo’s strips at some point.
Buster’s Diary, drawn by Reg Partlett continued on page two. Fiends and Neighbours, drawn by Graham Allen, was also trailed on the front cover.
Regulars in Buster and Cor!! at this point in time included Ivor Lott and Tony Broke (Jim Crocker), Pete’s Pocket Army (Solano Lopez), Faceache (Ken Reid) and Marney the Fox (John Stokes).
Advertisements included two staple tastes of a seventies childhood: Alphabetti Spaghetti and Frosties.
