Tornado’s editor Percy Pilbeam (unassuming alter-ego of superhero Big E) explained all on his letters page. So many of his readers seem obsessed by ‘which is fastest?’! It’s an interesting - and perhaps telling - foreshadowing of IPC’s launch of Speed comic the following spring.
Lead strips in Tornado included The Lawless Touch (writer R. Tufnell, artist John Cooper), The Angry Planet (artist Belardinelli), Black Hawk (writer Gerry Finley-Day, artist Alfonso Azpiri) and The Mind of Wolfie Smith (writer Tom Tully, artist Vanyo).
