On this day, 12 May 1973: Shiver and Shake

Cover artwork: Mike Lacey

On this day, 12 May 1973 … SHIVER with terror at the hideous reanimated composite man, at the ethereal spirit that haunts every step of an elderly landed noble, at the be-fanged plants with a vengeance against humanity, at the disembodied hand that floats hideously and invisibly through our lives, at the child with the razor-sharp incisor leaving terror and destruction in his wake.

SHAKE with mirth at the boy with the head of an elephant, at the self-made father who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing, at the school for clowns, at the schoolgirl mobster, at the football match between cavemen and dinosaurs.

And then top it all off with full-colour Ken Reid brilliance on the back page.

Comics, eh? Bloody brilliant.
